FLATLINE RP / OFFICIAL COMMUNITY GUIDE
Fair, believable roleplay starts with a shared set of expectations. Review these standards before entering a scene, pursuing conflict, or joining the community.
Public information · Updated November 4, 2026 · Gameplay availability may change during testing01 / Community conduct
Respect every player
- Treat players and staff respectfully across the server, Discord, voice, and official community spaces.
- Harassment, discriminatory abuse, hate speech, threats, doxxing, targeted intimidation, or sharing private information are prohibited.
- Keep disagreements civil and report problems through the appropriate support process rather than mobilizing others against a player.
Good roleplay conflict is between characters. Out-of-character hostility is not part of the experience.
02 / Character integrity
Stay in character
- Separate knowledge your character learns in the world from information you receive through streams, Discord, screenshots, recordings, or outside conversations.
- Do not use another character, alternate account, or spectator perspective to pass information your current character could not reasonably know.
- Use out-of-character channels for technical help and community matters, not to influence an ongoing in-character scene.
03 / Fair roleplay
No powergaming or forced outcomes
- Do not force another player into an outcome without giving them a reasonable opportunity to respond.
- Avoid implausible actions that ignore your character's limitations, the environment, or the consequences of an encounter.
- Prioritize collaborative storytelling over winning. Losing a conflict can create meaningful future roleplay.
04 / Value of life
Make danger matter
- React credibly when threatened, injured, cornered, or placed in a dangerous situation.
- Do not ignore substantial injuries or instantly return to a conflict as though nothing occurred.
- Treat capture, medical scenes, and consequences as part of your character's story.
05 / Violence and conflict
Build context before escalation
- Randomly attacking, killing, or repeatedly targeting another player without meaningful roleplay context is not permitted.
- Escalate disagreements through believable interaction. Serious violence should follow a clear in-character reason and reasonable opportunity to respond.
- Do not use vehicle collisions, environmental hazards, or game mechanics simply to bypass normal roleplay expectations.
- Do not intentionally harass a player under the cover of in-character conflict.
06 / Crime and investigations
Keep criminal roleplay believable
- Criminal acts should have understandable motives, appropriate risk, and consequences.
- Do not use bugs, forced animation states, or client limitations to create unavoidable robberies or escapes.
- Police, medical, civilian, and criminal characters should allow scenes to develop without deliberately stalling or manufacturing impossible outcomes.
- Specific operational limits may be published in additional department or event rules as systems become available.
07 / Scene continuity
Do not evade an active scene
- Do not disconnect, exploit menus, change characters, or otherwise avoid arrest, injury, consequences, or an active roleplay encounter.
- If technical problems cause an involuntary disconnect, contact the other participants or staff with an honest explanation.
- Resolve scene disputes after the situation through support channels unless immediate safety intervention is necessary.
08 / Fair technical play
No cheating or exploitation
- Unauthorized modifications, injected tools, manipulation of server traffic, item duplication, and deliberate bug exploitation are prohibited.
- Do not retain or distribute gains obtained through a bug. Report serious exploits privately to staff with enough detail for investigation.
- Do not attempt to access protected staff features, systems, accounts, or information.
09 / Identity and impersonation
Protect character and community identities
- Choose character names that fit the setting and do not impersonate staff, other players, or public figures to deceive the community.
- Do not falsely claim moderation authority or publish private messages and personally identifying information without permission.
- Roleplay identities must not be used to bypass restrictions or evade disciplinary actions.
10 / Voice and social interactions
Give everyone room to participate
- Keep voice interaction understandable, avoid disruptive soundboards or microphone abuse, and respect reasonable accessibility needs.
- Do not spam, repeatedly interrupt, or intentionally drown out a scene.
- Respect boundaries when others decline an uncomfortable out-of-character interaction.
11 / Reports, evidence, and appeals
Use the support process
- Document the approximate time, involved player names, and what occurred; provide screenshots or clips when available.
- Do not post private personal information, credentials, or sensitive evidence in public channels.
- Staff decisions are based on context and available evidence. Players may request a review through the official support channel.
- Knowingly false reports, retaliation, and attempts to pressure witnesses are not permitted.
12 / Updates and interpretation
Community standards evolve
- These are the published baseline standards. Feature-specific rules may be added as gameplay systems are tested and released.
- Staff may clarify ambiguous situations and act to protect community safety. Material rule changes should be communicated publicly.
- When in doubt, ask before acting rather than exploiting a gray area.
Keep exploring.
