FLATLINE RP / PLAYER RESOURCE
Practical examples for newcomers and experienced roleplayers adapting to Flatline RP.
Updated November 5, 2026 · Available systems and setup requirements may change01 / Roleplay fundamentals
Act as your character, not as yourself
- Describe and make decisions based on what your character knows and wants.
- Allow conversations and ordinary interactions to develop naturally without demanding mechanical rewards.
- Use outside channels for technical problems, not to pass information into ongoing scenes.
02 / Shared scenes
Give others meaningful choices
- Do not narrate another player's reaction for them or force an action to succeed.
- Leave reasonable time for others to respond, particularly in high-pressure scenes.
- When a player asks to pause for a technical problem, cooperate and resolve the issue fairly.
03 / Conflict and consequence
Escalate credibly
- Arguments, rivalries and violence need understandable motivations and roleplay context.
- Treat injury, fear and consequences as real aspects of your character's experience.
- Keep in-character conflict separate from out-of-character treatment of other people.
04 / New players
Be curious and ask questions
- Start with small objectives: meet someone, seek work or explore the city.
- Do not assume features or commands work like they did on another multiplayer server.
- Ask for help when a roleplay convention or mechanic is unclear rather than improvising an exploit.
05 / Scene disputes
Resolve issues through support
- Capture the time and evidence for a rule concern and file a private report.
- Do not interrupt an ongoing scene to wage an argument unless immediate safety is involved.
- Respect staff review and remember the aim is a shared, fair experience.
